This team Prototype was built to expose and criticize the struggle of living during the time of the pandemic of 2020-2022 in a funny manner as well to serve as a way to measure up your morality standards and sensibilize the population such as Covid-Idiots – all together to form a modern satire.
Our video game finds a way to alleviate the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic and the different rules the Quebec Government specifically imposed its population with cute little hamsters. Similarly, the artistic/design statement is inspired by young Thai protesters that are using hamsters from the famous HamTaro Serie to mock the new Coronavirus rules that their Government implemented that crippled their freedom. To do so, the Free Youth Movement protests use whimsical tactics to value their basic rights to gather and hold rallies.
In short, our idea was to demonstrate our current lives through the lenses of a cute hamster that uses a wearable smart ball in a hamsters world - like Ionesco with the french play Rhinocéros that did the same with social and cultural problems in the past. In order for the player to complete the game, (or survive in the time of the hamstery pandemic of the Conuttivirus), the latter would have to use their ball - their subsitute to the face mask - to go about with their lives, or try to.
All in all, I participated in the game design and did everything art related like, illustration and graphic / UI / UX design by myself. All done in Unity, Visual Studio 2019, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Fresco CC and Figma.
